- US has taken away Venezuelan President Moduro as a symbolic act. The vice president to Moduro, Rodriguez has assumed charge as President. She is not pro-US. She is already demanding the release of Moduro
- All US soldiers returned. Nobody behind (?). Unlike Iraq or Afghanistan, where the US left soldiers and others to administer.
- Venezuelan people will not let the US take their oil. It will be an emotive political issue. The US dream of 45 trillion $ booty of oil is far-fetched and premature. Who will let US oil companies come and take over the oil assets of Venezuela? It is not that easy. Security cover?
- But the US has surely taken panga with China. China is dependent on Extra-Heavy crude of Venezuela for its refineries. China is heavily invested in Venezuela. good chance we will see China and Russia supporting Venezuela. Big chance of increased instability in Venezuela.
- If at all US gets Venezuelan oil, it will not take it for itself but try to sell to the world against DOLLARS. because for itself it will like to buy from international market with its dollars which is just printed paper for US. this is last ditch effort of US to stop slide of dollar in value and as reserve currency of the world. in reality, this might hasten the process.
- After sanctions on countries like India to buy oil from Russia, the US has made it difficult to go to other sources like Venezuela. This is a step aimed at Russia and China, and their allies.
- Oil-producing countries will not let the price of crude fall, considering their oil-dependent economies are already bleeding. They might boycott US companies selling Venezuelan oil and this uncertainty might affect oil prices.
- US action might be short-sighted, to protect sinking Trump courtesy economy, epstein etc. This might affect geopolitical situations globally.
